Technical Sales Engineer

Company Description: SVT Associates is a high tech organization located in the Minneapolis area. For more than 24 years, SVT Associates has been supplying the thin films research and production communities with the tools needed for the latest materials research applications, i.e. III-V, nitrides, oxides, transition metals, etc. Our primary technologies are molecular beam epitaxy, atomic layer deposition, and pulsed laser deposition. Job Description: The Technical Sales Engineer is the vital connection between the design team, manufacturing, and the customer. As a technical expert, the Technical Sales Engineer works with customer to determine the best solution available to meet the customer's application. From the proposal, to product delivery and post-delivery, exceptional customer interaction is a key value of the Technical Sales Engineer.

The Technical Sales Engineer enables SVT Associates to achieve and exceed the sales goals, needed to maintain the growth strategy. As part of this, it requires performing market analysis, helping develop marketing materials, managing sales opportunities throughout the sales cycle, and developing new sales opportunities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Build customer relationships
• Develop sales opportunities of products and services within the thin films community
• Perform market analysis and strategies to improve sales opportunities and exceed sales goals
• Develop sales forecast of product sectors
• Excellent record keeping and organization of sales opportunities
• Assist in the organization and development of marketing materials and strategies
• Organize trade show efforts to maximize market exposure
• Perform after sales follow up and customer interaction
• Assist with customer inquiries regarding after sales service.

Minimum Requirements

• B.S. Degree in physics, materials science, chemistry or similar study
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a sales engineer position
• Available for a minimum 25% time of overnight travel (including international)
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (phone and email)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software

The Preferred Candidate will possess the following:

• Experience with vacuum and thin film deposition equipment
• 5 or more years of experience of selling and marketing highly technical product line
